Dr Elaoufir Aziz — IVF, ICSI and CAPA IVM · Targa & Guéliz, Marrakech
You come on a Monday or a Thursday. Tests, results, written diagnosis and a proposed course of treatment: everything is done the same day, at the centre.
The usual path for a couple seeking help with infertility stretches over six to ten weeks: a first consultation, a prescription, a laboratory across town, a radiologist, a second consultation to read the results — and often a third, because one test is missing.
At every step, some couples stop. Not from medical discouragement, but from weariness. The one-day work-up removes the gaps: blood tests, ultrasound, semen analysis and consultation all take place in the same building, the same day, and the results are given to you by the doctor who examined you.
Three couples per day at most, seen one after another.
| Test | What it tells us |
|---|---|
| AMH | Ovarian reserve, and the treatment dose it calls for |
| Antral follicle count | Confirms the reserve, by ultrasound |
| Pelvic ultrasound | Uterus, ovaries, screening for fibroid, polyp or cyst |
| TSH | The thyroid — a common and easily corrected cause |
| Prolactin | A hormonal imbalance, also correctable |
| Semen analysis | Full analysis, to WHO 2021 standards |
| STI PCR | A current infection, to be treated before any procedure |
Included: the couple's consultation, ultrasound and antral follicle count, AMH, TSH, prolactin, semen analysis, STI PCR, and the handing over of results.
Not included, and offered only if they prove necessary: tubal assessment, a second confirmatory semen analysis at three months, and the serology tests required before assisted reproduction.
The antral follicle count can only be done early in the cycle. Your appointment therefore falls between day 2 and day 7 after your period starts. Sessions are held on Mondays and Thursdays: whatever the date of your period, one of the two always falls within that window.
This is why we ask you for one thing only in order to set the date.

A work-up is not a treatment. It says where you stand and what can be proposed. What you decide next is yours, and will be discussed with you — never on your behalf.
